The ride

Four moves, from the kerb to your door

Every Gbé Mi ride follows the same sequence. It is short, and it always ends in the same place: a green zone.

  1. 1

    Create your account

Download Gbé Mi and sign up with your phone number, or with Google or Apple. No paperwork.

  2. 2

    Buy a pass

Pick a pass in the app and pay with Mobile Money. It activates straight away and its remaining time stays on screen.

  3. 3

    Scan and unlock

The QR code is on the handlebar. The scooter unlocks, the clock starts, and your position appears on the map.

  4. 4

    Park in a green zone

End the ride inside a green zone. The scooter locks, and whatever time you did not use goes back to your pass.

Passes

You pay for time, not distance

Gbé Mi has no monthly subscription. You buy passes that last a set period, and use them whenever you like while they are valid.

Unlock fee
A fixed amount charged each time you open a scooter. Some passes remove it entirely.
Minute bundle
A quota of minutes to spend within a validity window. The balance only drops while you are riding.
Unlimited pass
No minute quota: ride as much as you want until the pass expires.
Stacked passes
Several passes can be active at once. Gbé Mi spends the one that expires soonest first.
Promo codes
Enter a code before paying: the discount applies to the pass price, and you see the final amount before confirming.
Mobile Money payments
Payments are processed in CFA francs by our provider PayDunya. Gbé Mi never stores your payment credentials.

Current prices are shown in the app before every purchase. No automatic charges, no renewals behind your back.

Zones

The map decides where the ride ends

Cotonou is split into zones, shown live in the app. Two colours tell you everything you need.

Green zone

Ride and park

You can ride freely and end your trip here. Always look for a green zone before you step off: it is the only place a ride can close properly.

Red zone

Off limits

No riding, no parking. Time spent in a red zone is measured and may result in a penalty charged when the ride ends.

Zones change as the city changes. Trust the map in the app rather than your memory.

Safety

The rules that keep everyone upright

They are not decoration: breaking them can lead to a penalty or to your account being suspended.

  • One rider per scooter

    No passengers, no bulky loads.

  • Helmets strongly advised

Gbé Mi does not supply helmets. Wear your own.

  • Adults only

Accounts are personal and closed to under-18s.

  • No alcohol or drugs

Riding under the influence is forbidden and is your liability.

  • Traffic law applies

You are a road user in full, not a pedestrian.

  • Park clear

Never block a pavement, a doorway, a gutter or a traffic lane.

Impact

Every ride is counted

The app keeps track of your rides, the distance you covered and the CO₂ you avoided compared with the same trip in a petrol vehicle. It sits in your profile, ride after ride.

0 g

Questions

What people ask us most

How do I start a ride?

Open the app, tap scan and point at the QR code on the handlebar. With an active pass, the scooter unlocks immediately.

What if my pass runs out mid-ride?

The app warns you before it does. If the quota is exhausted, the ride closes automatically — head for a green zone as soon as you see the alert.

Can I end my ride anywhere?

No. A ride must end inside a green zone. Outside one, the clock keeps running and extra charges may apply.

How do I pay?

With Mobile Money, in CFA francs, straight from the app. Payments go through PayDunya; we store no card or wallet details.

The scooter is broken or damaged — what now?

Do not ride it. Report it from the app or write to support@gbemibenin.com with the number printed on the frame.

How do I delete my account?

From the Delete my account page on this site, or directly in the app. Requests are handled within 30 days.
